Denny Heck Passes $1 Million Mark
$400,000 Raised in the First Quarter of 2012; Ends Quarter with $933,000 Cash on Hand; More than 2,000 Donors
Olympia, Washington – Denny Heck’s campaign for Congress in Washington’s new 10th Congressional District has passed the $1 million fundraising mark. Heck raised more than $400,000 in the first quarter of 2012 and ends the quarter with $933,000 cash on hand.
The campaign’s strong showing is the result of support from 2038 contributors since Heck announced his candidacy. More than 90% of the campaign’s individual contributions have come from donors in Washington State.
“The campaign blew past its goals for the first quarter. This kind of unprecedented support is clear proof Denny’s message of protecting the middle class and those working to get into it is resonating with a growing grassroots community in Pierce, Thurston and Mason counties,” Campaign Manager Hart Edmonson said.
Heck is running in the newly created 10th Congressional District. The 10th is a Democratic district that gave President Obama 58% of the major party vote in 2008.
Denny Heck, 59, is an entrepreneur, former State Representative and co-founder of TVW, a statewide public affairs TV channel in Washington State.
